Stabler Arena is the first venue of its kind to be built in the Lehigh Valley. This arena has a long history for entertainment and sporting events with more than six million people entering its halls since 1979. As a premier venue for entertainment in the 1980’s, 1990’s and into the 2000’s, Stabler Arena has seen the likes of Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, the Cranberries, Aerosmith, KISS, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and many more great artists entertain the people of the Lehigh Valley.
This 6,200 seat, multi-purpose venue located on Lehigh University’s Goodman Campus was named after 1930 graduate, Donald B. Stabler and his wife Dorothy. Stabler Arena officially opened on May 29, 1979 for the Lehigh University Commencement ceremony and has opened its doors for concerts, rehearsals, trade shows, corporate events, professional sports teams and others. Known for its sound and acoustics for concerts, Stabler Arena is still popular today hosting numerous events each year.
Stabler Arena is also the home to the Lehigh Men’s and Women’s basketball programs. Equipped with team locker rooms and adjoining team room, Stabler Arena also acts as their the primary practice sight. Lehigh Wrestling will occasionally compete in this facility for matches and the EIWA championships.
