Olympic Valley - Squaw Valley Resort

1960 Squaw Valley Road

Squaw Valley is one of Lake Tahoe's premiere ski resorts, Squaw Valley is a year-round mountain destination offering world-class adventures in every season. Over 2,800 vertical feet of pure mountain bliss. Come winter, Squaw is renowned for its legendary terrain that spans, accessed by 30 chair lifts, spread across six jaw dropping beautiful mountain peaks. We have terrain parks and half pipes, two beginner areas (one locat...ed at the top of the mountain), and Tahoe's longest winter season - November through May. On average we receive over 450" of snowfall annually and are known to have snowstorms of over 3 feet at night followed by perfect sunny skies in the morning.

There is a European style pedestrian village located in the base area with quaint shops and unique restaurants as well as world class dining and two mid-mountain lodges, Gold Coast and High Camp at elevation 8200'. The High Camp facility is host to mountain top ice skating, swimming at the pool & hot tub (open mid-March through September) and dining overlooking Lake Tahoe

Squaw valley is such a beautiful place both in summer and winter. I really enjoy this place, they have nice caring and loving staff so that's a must that they accomplish. They have decent hotel rooms. I love how there's a little shopping square within the village as with food and the bars. So that way you don't have to go anywhere else besides just in the village with all that provided. My opinion probably the best place to ski and snowboard🙂

I wanted to surprise my daughter and her husband with something special when they arrived at resort. I contacted the Concierge Kate to make my request. I was amazed at the great information and assistance I received. I have never received such great customer service! From the moment they answered the phone until I made my request I was treated with such courtesy and kindness. Thank you so very much for helping me make my kid’s vacation just a little more special. Thank you Kate!

Well, snowboarding is always fun so four stars but I did honestly expect longer runs for somewhere so highly celebrated. This is my first time there when it hasn't been storming and the lifts are actually open though so I haven't seen too much of the mountain yet. Likewise, not much snow this season, not yet, so nothing black was open to ride and powder wasn't an option. As always, I recommend mid-week for shorter lines at the lifts. Went to the board shop for a stomp pad and they were super helpful and put the pad on for me with the heat gun and everything. Good pricing for what I expect to see at any resort let alone one of this much attraction. I didn't hit the Irish pub this trip but I highly recommend dropping in for your drink of choice and their loaded tots: awesome, delicious, warm, comfort food perfect for any cold day. During the summer I hike up there too and it's got plenty o good trails for that and running of course, given it's the start point for the Western States 100, or mountain biking. The pool there is also a good spot to hang on an off-day from the dirt. The food at the cafe there is pretty good, you can get drinks, and the pool itself is a good layout for chillin out. If you haven't been yet I also recommend checking out the Olympic museum there; pretty cool stuff in there.

Great place for the whole family. Kids loved it, lots of activities for them. Great restaurants and shopping. Game rooms for kids, small theater room you can bring your own movies in and watch on a big screen. Hot tubs in the Snow! Fun all around.

Stayed in a 1 bedroom, 1 den suite. Ended up being a 2 bedroom 2 bath. It was very spacious and comfortable. Since it's in the village, it's just a short walk to the trams up the mountain or to the rentals. All day Squaw kids were great for our 4, 6, and 8 year old children. They all loved it and got a taste for skiing. The beginner lessons for us parents were great as well. It was our first time ever and the instructors were very friendly and insightful.
