Just east of downtown Northbrook and adjacent to the Northbrook Junior High School, Meadowhill is one of the largest and most unusual parks in the village. Spanning more than 32 acres, the park contains ball diamonds, seasonal soccer fields, football fields, swimming pools, a lighted basketball court, a climbing wall, cycling track, outdoor ice rink, recreation buildings, picnic area, shelter and a walking/jogging path.
At the Meadowhill Aquatic Center, swimmers can enjoy four separate pools, in addition to a large sun deck, concession stand and locker room. Nearby, the Ed Rudolph Velodrome, an official quarter-mile outdoor bicycle track, attracts top cyclists from the Midwest to weekly races and offers training sessions, special events and Friday night bike races for amateur riders of all ages.
Nestled in the woods of Meadowhill Park is the Teams Challenge Course, a series of outdoor activities and team-building exercises to advance personal and professional development. A 30-foot climbing tower offers an adventure involving strength, risk, problem solving and accomplishment and is available with the Teams Challenge Course or as a rental option with climbing instructors.
