About Us:

McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center offers a variety of venues ranging in size and features to accommodate all types of events in the Blue Water Area.

The McMorran Foundation was established in 1956 by Andrew J. Murphy, his wife, Emma McMorran Murphy, and her sister, Clara McMorran Mackenzie. The foundation was set in place to build a municipal auditorium in downtown Port Huron. The auditorium did not officially open until January 11, 1960.

McMorran Place is home to the Federal Hockey League (FHL) team, the Port Huron Prowlers, 2016 Commissioners Cup Champions.

Some of the event highlights that have taken place over the last 50+ years would include:

  • Hosted the training camp for the Detroit Red Wings and the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL).
  • Was home to the United Hockey League (UHL) team, the Border Cats, for 6 years.
  • Has hosted concerts for many big names in all genres of music such as Craig Campbell, Trace Adkins, Johnny Cash, Bob Seger, Bon Jovi and so many more.
