Coon Rapids Ice Center (CRIC) opened September 6, 2011 replacing Cook Ice Arena which served the skating community since 1973.
CRIC features a NHL regulation size indoor arena operated year round and a NHL regulation size outdoor refrigerated rink operated from approximately mid November to mid March.
CRIC showcases eight spacious fully equipped locker rooms for teams, spectator seating for 775 as well as a large concession area with two seating areas, two party rooms, an elevated "skybox" meeting room, a large conference room and several training rooms.
Both Boys and Girls Coon Rapids High School teams have dedicated locker rooms complete with individual player equipment storage and dressing areas.
The Coon Rapids Skating Academy utilizes the United States Figure Skating (USFS) instructional program which providess complete lesson program for both figure and hockey skaters.
CRIC also offers Public Skating, Adult Drop In Hockey, Stick and Puck sessions, hockey tournaments, and other on ice and off ice activities utilizing both the indoor and outdoor surfaces.
