Babbitt's ice arena was renamed the Ron Castellano Ice Arena in honor of longtime coach and teacher Ron Castellano. A dedication ceremony was held October 25, 2014.
The Ron Castellano Ice Arena is city owned and operated from mid-October through mid-March. This facility is used by the public for open skating, girls and boys hockey, and the figure skating club as well as the local school system. The arena was recently updated with energry efficient lighting and new locker rooms. In the past year the arena has gone through a maintenance program that repaired the roof and replaced two older compressors with newer models so that our great ice standards could be maintained.
